Because I want to be there for Whitby, but am not sure I fancy the journey to Whitby (and as I have nothing to wear, dahlink)

I have got 2 Blacks' Good Companion tents, a number of groundsheets and a huge crate of pegs which (if a home is not found) are going to the tip.

Any takers?

(The tents are simple 2 person, A-frame tents, aluminium poles and canvas - I do not know the sizes of the groundsheets, but could measure up if it is important)

Secondary thought -how easy is it to dye tent canvas?

Quick rant on two things that are getting much more media attention than (I think) they deserve (this could have something to do with over 5 hours of Radio 4 yesterday):

1) Church is cross over £75 charge
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4785780.stm

Advert n: a public promotion of some product or service

Surely the cross is an advert - just a very well known one? It is £75, not thousands - what is the problem?

2) Woman loses frozen embryos fight
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4779876.stm

If it was the other way around and the man could no longer have kids - would there be the coverage of him not being able to use these embryos with a new partner/surrogate mother?

Actually my rant bone seems to be broken so it is a very gentle rant. Suffice to say these two things make me very cross as above!

I know that I own lots of music. I also know that there are enormous holes in my music education.

In your opinion what one album should I listen to/own?

(If there are more than one and you cannot choose then two would be OK, but I would like to know what you see as the pinacle of essential listening!)

You may well be surprised by the gaps in my knowledge, so please do not be put off by thinking I already know/have it!

I have just discovered that [livejournal.com profile] syleth who I have come across (but never met) via [livejournal.com profile] ocultado is also on [livejournal.com profile] mr_flay's flist.

I also discovered that [livejournal.com profile] violet_black who I don't know, but am aware of via [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch amongst others is on the flist of [livejournal.com profile] feetnotes

I suspect (although do not know) that [livejournal.com profile] ocultado and [livejournal.com profile] mr_flay would not know each other from Adam (although they would probably get on very well, both being completely lovely). I would also assert the same of [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch and [livejournal.com profile] feetnotes.

Is is just me who finds this interesting/fascinating, or is it just another small world situation?

Or is this post so confusing that no-one has a clue what I am talking about?

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,

In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Seeing as I will not be in the US (apologies if this means nothing), it is possible to go to Whitby.

I have no plans in place whatsoever. In fact I can't even think about what plans I should be putting in place...

(Isn't "Offered without comment" itself a comment, and therefore self-defeating?)
