(no subject)

I have had enough!

Of Welsh Dragon sausages having to change their name as they do not contain dragon, of packets of peanuts needing to carry “may contain nuts” warnings, and of many other foolish rulings.

I propose that on the 20th December (time to spread the word) as many people as possible call their local Trading Standards office and complain that:

1) There is no shepherd in all major supermarket own brand Shepherd’s Pie.
2) There is no cottage in all major supermarket own brand Cottage Pie.
3) There is no toad in all major supermarket own brand Toad in the Hole.

I could go on, but I think that these simple examples highlight the point!

Who is with me? Pass it on!

(You can find your local trading standards office by clicking here )

Me!!!

I understand the need to be wary but unfortunatelyI suspect somethings have never seen a wiff of a nut and it's only done for legal protection!

Ah, the wonders of the urban myth stirred up by the tabloid press. AIUI, Dragon Sausages were actually criticised for failing to include the legally required statement of pork or beef as the primary meat in the name of their sausages.

"Dragon pork sausages" would have been fine.
