Maelstrom, 2004. Can't quite remember if it was the July or September event, but I have a suspicion it was the July event.

First thoughts? Honestly?
"Hmm, who is this person, why is she being so familiar and why is she already talking of visiting me in Dublin?" :)

Thankfully a few hours later I realised that I didn't mind you being familiar, and that yes, it would be nice to see you! Once I'm settled in the new place you must come over again - this time I'll actually be able to give you a bed!

I remember you in Tescos - and I knew Simon and went up and said hello to him (I probably bounced at him, to be fair). I remember you being very quiet and looking as if Simon was really being unhelpful in getting the shopping done! I thought that you looked like you had just about had enough (but not in a grumpy way!)

I am so pleased that I have got to know you now - and I would like to make more time to spend with you.

You approached me outside B Movie and chanted gloatingly "I know who you are! I know who you are and you don't know who I am!" or words to that effect. I think I'd had a bit of a stressful night and was very drunk and was a little taken aback. :)

At a Sisters of Mercy Gig at the astoria. Must have been summer of 2000.

I remember because you kindly picked my glasses off the floor after I managed to drop them when I was up on someones shoulders * (I think).

What did I think? "where the fuck are my glasses" comes to mind!!!

* - And yes before anyone else makes a smart comment I was a bit slimmer then so there was no need for a cherrypicker to put me up!!!

I remeber a cry of "glasses" and spotted them at my feet - I had to push someone out of the way to get to them though *g*

I do not remember you being on shoulders at the time, but it was all a little hectic! How random was that as a meeting!

(I was there with huuggs having had dinner with my parents, Uncle, Aunt and Cousin - my aunt and cousin are very odd people and I had to completely change after the meal - I gave the respectable clothes to my parents to take home and changed the rest in The Tottenham before going on to the gig)

actually I think his skinniness was on my shoulders as that has occured at whitby before.

Of course our second meeting in whitby was even worse as I was so drunk I didn't remember you at all.

And I had met his skinniness at Whitby*, but not you, so I recognised him when I returned the glasses to you - I think that cheered him up *g*


*I had a black velvet/glittery crown on with a sari (it was one of my very first Whitbys) and he came up told me that I was lying and that he was the one and only queen of Whitby - he was doing introducing bands, I was new to the whole thing and was rather pleased that I had been noticed at all! *g*

I think it was Jen's birthday party when she and Kev lived in London. We all stayed the night, and you and I talked about a series of books - which took forever to get borrowed from you! (I still have them, BTW)

My first thoughts were, "Wow...fantastic hair! (It was still long then) What a great smile!"

It was indeed - I remember sitting and putting the world to rights for many hours..

That was the night of the CAKE, and Jon being rather interesting to watch, and Cat-aroo (if I remember correctly)
