Yes, it is really a post from me!!
Sep. 3rd, 2002 05:18 pmWell it has been a while in coming but here is another enlightened entry from me!
I went to Texas and the training was superb, the people from the corporate office were lovely and I got hailed as being an example to follow at every turn - Good you might thing... well yes, except for the UK guys who came out with the most amazing level of BS and nastiness I have ever come across - I have never in my whole life been made to feel less welcome, involved or "part of the team"
I discovered that there was a theme being discussed amongst them all that I wsa basically not doing any work while in the US and that I had no right being there.
I was told that there was no room for me in one of their hire cars (but they found room for someone else who arrived later - he was OK as he was "a little one" at over 6' tall!)
I was blanked by all the UK guys on a night out with all of the Northern European team and had to expend all the energy to have fun with some of the international guys knowing that there were daggers glaring at my back.
I went down to the hotel bar for a 19:00 meet up to go out for the evening only to find out that they had changed the meeting time to 18:30 and not told me.
Well... you get the picture - I guess it put my options into perspective though
Actually I am feeling quite up-beat at the moment so I can't complain!
Next installment - the showdown with my Boss' boss and the conference that caused real fun and games!
