I believe charliemouse absolutly adores marmite and would quite happily suck it out of the pot with a straw - in fact I recall a conversation where I suggested we pinch a marmite lorry - Not unlike a petrol tanker and park it in her garden. She said it would keep her happy for weeks....!!!
I find that Marmite is particularly good on freshly baked crusty bread, but is perfectly accompanied by another slice, but this time spread with honey. I could not however confess to loving it. As a child, about 6 years old, my Mother took myself and my twin to visit an elderly relative who always served up toast and stale biscuits. I vividly remember ladling marmite onto a slice of toast while my elders looked on with horror. My great aunt asked whether I really wanted quite so much, to which I replied "Yes. I love it!" I think I must have thought it was chocolate sauce or something. They all sniggered quietly while my face turned inside out. Jen
