Starting a Monday slightly on the slant
May. 23rd, 2005 10:49 amAn unsettling start to a Monday morning for me. The first conscious action of mine every morning (after falling out of bed) is to turn on the radio in the bathroom. This morning I was greeted by the news headlines (at the wrong time) followed by an announcement that there would be a change in programming due to the strike.
I feel out of touch! What is going on in the world? Where are the racing tips? What about the FTSE index? Is it going to affect mortgage rates? Where is Blair off on holiday this year? Will it be controversial? What is the progress of the Harlequin bugs and are they being beaten back in the war with our ladybirds? ARGH - bring me back John Humphries and Ed Stourton! I need the dulcet tones of Brian Perkins and Andrew Marr to get me jump started in the mornings! I feel like an engineer without coffee! I cannot persuade my brain that it is Monday, it thinks that it is OK to still be asleep - were it not for Listen Again, this entry would have been meaningless babble!
I just feel lucky that I pulled it together enough to be wearing the pre-requisite amount of clothes for decency.
